“You have not lived today until you have done something for someone who can never repay you.”
Skateboarding is part of its own culture. If you skate, you automatically connect with other skateboarders no matter what language you speak or what your background is – it is very much a shared community. It is a family and, as believers, we are called to love those in this community with us as Christ would. Other skaters should know our faith by how we love others.
There are all different types of skaters with all different skill sets and styles. No matter the difference, when you jump on a board with a fellow skater, there is an automatic connection – a brotherhood. As Christian Skaters, whether skating with believers or unbelievers, we are called to live out our faith and be an example of Jesus to those who do not yet know Him.
As an individualistic sport, skateboarding can often be self-serving. Although we are a family watch out for one another, we are often self-centered. As Christian Skaters we are called to be counter-cultural in this community and serve others so that they can see Christ in us. We are called to share our hope found in Jesus and teach others about Him.
